Day 1. Arrival in Xi'an (Lunch;Dinner)
Upon arrival,you'll be greeted and transfer to the city,and take a stroll through the lively Muslim Quarter, exploring the many narrow lane ways of the interesting Islamic food markets. And then Walk around the Bell Tower and Drum Tower Square having a whole view of the downtown area of the city.
Proceed to visit the ancient City Wall--a 500-year-old barricade built to protect the city. Standing the test of time, it is one of the only walls in China to remain intact.It is 13.7km(9miles) in total length,we suggest you to cycle around on the wall (takes 1hr for a round-trip).
In the evening we enjoy a performance of music and dance dating back to the Tang Dynasty while feasting on a sumptuous dumpling dinnerit is served for 16 different kinds of shape and stuffing inside,this is a way of the Tang Royal families to eat in the ancient time, a specialty of the region. Tang Dynasty is the most glorious period in Chinese history.The culture influenced China in the whole aspect.
Day 2. Xi'an /Luoyang D1004(18:41/20:53) (Breakfast;Lunch)
We start our day with a visit to the famous UNESCO World Heritage listed Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. One of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, this unearthed terracotta army is comprised of over 7,000 soldiers, horses and chariots. The army was built in life-sized form by thousands of workers and designed by the self-proclaimed Emperor Qin Shi Huang to defend himself in his afterlife. The word China derived from his name and he is acclaimed by Chinese historians to have unified the rival lands of China into a single empire after defeating his enemy states and standardizing the systems of currency, writing and measurement.
Drive back to the city,you will have lunch at India Restaurant.
After lunch visit to the Big Wild Goose Pogada---Originally it was built in 652 during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), it functioned to collect Buddhist materials that were taken from India by Master Xuanzang.
Then transferred to the Xi'an North Railway Station for your Bullet Train to Luoyang
Upon arrival in Luoyang,greeted by your guide and transferred to the hotel for rest.
Day 3.Luoyang (Breakfast;Lunch ;Dinner)
After a rich breakfast at the hotel, you will start today's sightseeing with a visit to the Chariot and Horse Pits. It is the accessory pit of an imperial tomb of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty (about 2,200 to 2,700 years ago), exhibiting the remains of 2 sets of ancient chariots and horses and one of the chariots was drawn by six horses abreast. Then proceed to Longmen Grottoes. Densely scattered along the cliffs on both banks of Yi River, Longmen Grottoes is one of the four great grottoes in China. The construction started from 493 AD of the Northern Wei Dynasty when Emperor Xiaowendi moved the capital to Luoyang and lasted for more than 400 years. Now there are 2,345 caves with 2,680 statues, over 70 stupas and 2,680 inscribed stone tablets.
In the afternoon,you will visit Luoyang
Museum. Located in the center district, it is the only comprehensive
history museum in this city. The cultural relics displayed in the museum can
trace back to the prehistoric period, over 1,000,000 years ago. You will also
see the world-famous Tang Tri-colored Pottery in the museum.
Day 4.Luoyang Departure (Breakfast;Lunch ;Dinner)
The morning tour takes you to Shaolin Temple. Situated in Songshan Mountain, about 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from the west of Dengfeng City, it is the most reputable and longest standing temple in China. The temple is the birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu that has become the treasure of Chinese martial arts. The main scenic spots in the temple are the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Grand Hall, the Sutra Depository, Hall of Thousands of Buddha and the Pagoda Forest.
Then proceed to visit the White Horse Temple. With a history of 1,900 years, the White Horse Temple is regarded as the 'No. 1 Ancient Temple under Heaven'. It was built in the Western Han Dynasty to enshrine the services of the white horses that carried the Buddhist scriptures and statues brought back from India. Besides the traditional Chinese temples, you will also see the newly built temple of Indian style.
Drive to the Railway Station for your bullet train back to Nanjing and Shanghai .
